John Fleming is the Managing Director of Planning and City Planner with the City of London. He has an Honours degree in Urban Development from Western University and a Masters Degree in Planning from the University of Toronto. As an urbanist, Mr. Fleming is very interested in city-building and urban design. In his current position as the Chief City Planner, he is responsible for a broad portfolio that includes such things as planning policy and programs, sustainability and resiliency, urban design, heritage planning, urban regeneration, ESA and trail planning, growth management, ecological planning, and smart city initiatives. He led the ReThink London process and the subsequent development of The London Plan – representing a leading edge approach for planning in Ontario.
