Yasmin Hussain is Manager of Public Education and Community Programs at the Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration (MRCSSI) in London, Ontario. In her role, Yasmin works on community-based education strategies to address gender-based and family violence, and to strengthen community responses supporting the safety of Muslim women and girls. Yasmin is also active in supporting community-based strategies working with newcomer children, youth and their families. Yasmin strongly believes in participatory, strengths-based and anti-oppressive models of community development and social action, as such strategies expand the space of who participates in the development of solutions to issues impacting communities. She is the recipient of the Women Who Inspire Award from the Canadian Council of Muslim Women, and the John Robinson Innovation Award from the London Coordinating Committee to End Woman Abuse.
